Cleaning out the Sludge
Why Cleanse in Autumn & Spring? At the end of Autumn I can feel the accumulated heat in my body and I'm less tolerant of hot days. I also notice my hair brush has more hair in it. Taking some time to cleanse in the transition between Summer and Autumn helps release excess heat that has built-up in the body and get things back into balance before winter.
In Spring it's about shifting and releasing the accumulation and stagnation that can occur in the body during winter when I tend to move less and eat more. As it gets warmer I can feel my body naturally moving into that spring cleanse mode and I love to support this natural energy flow with some mung. It's like riding a wave, effortless and magical. Why Mung Beans? Our body is designed to nourish, clean, repair and rebuild itself. These tasks all require energy and a significant share of our daily energy is used in the digestive process. In fact our digestion gets priority and if there isn't enough left over for cleaning, repair and rebuilding then too bad...which is how the seeds of disease are planted.
That's where Mung Bean Soup steals the show. High in fibre, iron, protein and B vitamins the humble green mung bean is nourishing, and at the same time light and easy to digest. This enables energy normally used for digestion to be available for that backlog of cleaning, repair and rebuilding work. Cooked with a variety digestive spices this delicious soup works to break down the toxic sludge (Ama) that builds up over time due to poor diet, stress, lack of exercise and wrong lifestyle. The combination is a simple, fast and incredibly effective way to shift stubborn health issues and restore balance. The 10 Day Challenge & How it WorksThe MMC is based on the concept of a mono diet, i.e. eating the same thing - mung bean soup - each meal for up to 10 days. There is nothing that says you have to to do it for 10 days, however therein lies the challenge, with incredible benefits to your general health & wellbeing as the outcome. I sometimes do 4 weeks.
In addition to the incredible health benefits you will experience, you will also gain time and money. It will take no more than 30 mins - less after you get the swing of it - to make your soup once a day. You'll also save heaps on your grocery bill - a lot more than it costs to join. The challenge is structured to help you stay on track. Basically we hang out together for 10 days, eating mung and talking about what comes up when we are eating mung...because stuff does come up. Towards the end we introduce some vegetables and then rice. For example, a typical 10 day cleanse might go as follows…
The protocol also includes some cleansing teas that you can brew and some special teas and herbs to take in the morning and evenings. The Magical Mung Space & Community"Thankyou to all my fellow Mung Bean mob, just knowing that you are there and going through much the same stuff is extremely encouraging".
After registering you will be invited to join the Magical Mung Space in my private community, Aware WellBeing. Here you will have access to a comprehensive library of information and practices to support you before, during and after the cleanse. We do this cleanse as a group simply because it can be hard to find the motivation and staying power on our own. The momentum of the group energy - our community What's App group, a Pre-Cleanse & Post-Cleanse Q&A calls, plus daily Connect Calls to ask questions, share some intentions and habits that will help us navigate what's happening and cheer each other on - helps us stay strong. We do better when we do things together. The Daily Connect calls on zoom are at 7.00am and replays are available if you can't make the live call. Each call begins with a Checking-In Meditation before exploring a Conscious Intention and Lifestyle habit for the day. Participants often say that the great conversations and shared wisdom in these calls is one of the most valuable aspects of their experience. Aware WellBeing is on a private platform away from the distraction and monitoring of social media. If you would like to have access to the information and offerings I share and be part of a community focused on living more consciously join anytime right here. |
